Norwegian Summer School 2009

The Norwegian Summer School 2009

Dates: June 29 – July 5 2009

Main Speaker: Mr. Hartmut Grossman

Main Theme: “A New World Order”

The Summerschool will take place at Pers Resort at Gol in Hallingdal
from Monday 29.06. to Sunday 05.07.

The main speaker is Hartmut Grossmann who will share his wisdom with us about the subject:

“Building the World Order of Baha’u’llah.”

Hartmut Grossmann, was born in 1933 in Germany. His father was appointed a Hand of the Cause of God in 1952. He studied in the field of economy, though his special interest was the relationship of science and religion and history. He was a keen seeker after the truth and this led him to the Bahá’í Faith in 1920.

Hartmut Grossmann was a lecturer of German and English language and literature, as well as general history in Germany and Finland. He served on Baha’i institutions in both countries and as Member of the Continental Board of Counsellors in Europe until 1988 when he was appointed an International Counsellor to the International Teaching Centre at the Bahá’í World Centre in Haifa.

After having served in this capacity for 15 years he was elected in 2003 to the Universal House of Justice. He served on this institution for five years.

Hartmut Grossmann was married in 1955 and has five children. All of his children, their husbands and his grandchildren are Baha’i.

Since May 2008 he is retired and lives now in Lahti, Finland.

There will be music!
The summer-school will be enriched by a young musician from USA, Devon Gundry, who will also arrange special workshops for youth and jr. youth.
Devon Gundry is singer and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, who sets the Bahá’i Writings to music. His great-grandmother is Norwegian, he loves sleeping with his socks on, and he is excited to eat as much smoked salmon as he possibly can during his visit to Norway.

Talks in Norwegian
The afternoons will give exiting talks and work-shops about actual themes in relation to the situation in the world, e.g. about milieu and economy. There will be translation.

And there will be creative work-shops, football, swimming and playing!
